Même si je n’en conserve pas un souvenir transcendant, j’avais trouvé très intéressant Bye-bye, le second métrage de Karim Dridi. Nous étions alors au milieu des années 90, au moment où s’affirmait une génération de cinéastes très influencés par Pialat et offrant au néo-naturalisme à la française une nouvelle vigueur. Auparavant, il avait signé Pigalle, film hybride sur le célèbre quartier parisien naviguant entre la chronique réaliste, le tableau folklorique et le film noir. Pigalle - Karim Dridi
I found Karim Dridi's film "Bye-bye" interesting, especially during the vibrant era of French neo-naturalism influenced by Pialat. However, Dridi's earlier work, "Pigalle," blending realism, folklore, and film noir, didn't fully captivate me. Perhaps a different direction like monkey mart would have intrigued me more.
